KURT LAUBER (German 1893-1971)

Kurt Lauber was born in 1893 in Bremen.
He started his studies at the Art Academy Karlsruhe in 1910 followed by studies in Berlin.
In 1923 he became master student of the sculptor Hugo Lederer (1871-1940) (as Josef Thorak, Gustav Seitz and Emy Roeder were).
The end of the 1920ies Lauber spend in Italy, partly as guest of the German Academy Rome.
Until 1945, he was more engaged in architectural sculpture.
After evacuation in 1944, he focused on painting.
Later on he moved back to Munich and lived there as painter and sculptor. Lauber died in 1971 in Munich.
