GRETE HART

GRETE HART (German, 1885-1971)

Grete Hart was the daughter of the literature critic and publisher Julius Hart.
In 1917 and 1918 she participated at the exhibitions of the Berliner Sezession and in 1930-32 she took part in the
„Große Berliner Kunstausstellung“. Grete Hart was resident of Berlin-Zehlendorf.

What seems to be a free expressionist composition, is actually based on a strict geometric system. Infrared reflectography revealed an underdrawing in form of a grid.
